A straight run up the highway

Coffs Harbour is about 220 km up the Pacific Highway from the yard, so delivery is a predictable run rather than a long haul. We deliver right around the Coffs Coast: Sawtell, Toormina, Boambee, Bonville, Korora, Moonee Beach and up to Woolgoolga.

Ground around the Coffs Coast

Hillside blocks

A lot of Coffs climbs toward the ranges, so plenty of blocks slope. A sloping yard usually means some cut and fill, a retaining wall on the low side, and a careful look at where a truck and crane can stand. None of it is unusual, it just needs planning before the dig.

Sand near the beaches

Closer to the water at Sawtell, Park Beach and Woolgoolga you are usually in sand. Sand digs easily but will not hold a wall, so the hole is cut and the shell set without leaving an open excavation sitting around.

Plenty of rain

Coffs is one of the wetter parts of the state. Plan the dig for a dry spell, keep the open hole short-lived, and remember a fibreglass shell is buoyant: it wants hydrostatic relief and it stays full once it is in.

Approval through Coffs Harbour City Council

Most backyard pools in New South Wales go through as a complying development with a private certifier, and the rest go to council as a development application. Either way the engineered shell drawing, the installation details and the Certificate of Compliance come in your kit, which is what your certifier asks for first.

Your pool barrier has to meet AS 1926.1 and the pool gets registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register within 30 days.

Access and the crane

The shell comes in on a truck and is craned into the hole. What matters is the gap it has to pass through, what is overhead, and where a truck and a crane can stand. Measure your side access at its tightest point, 900 mm is the usual pinch, and look up for powerlines. Our delivery and crane access guide covers what actually matters. The crane is not in the kit price. It is booked and paid for separately by you or your builder, and its cost depends on reach and how long it has to sit there.

My block slopes. Can I still have a fibreglass pool?

Usually yes. A slope means cut and fill and often a retaining wall on the low side, and it changes where the crane can stand. Send us the address and a photo and we will look at it before you spend anything.
