Kempsey is about 160 km from the yard, so the delivery part of your price stays small. We deliver right through the Macleay Valley: West Kempsey, Frederickton, Smithtown, Gladstone, South West Rocks, Crescent Head and Hat Head.

Before we price anything we look at your block on the aerial and the planning maps, so the delivered number is for your site and not a guess for the region.

Ground around the Macleay

River flats and flood levels

A lot of Kempsey and the valley towns sit on the Macleay floodplain. Your council will have a flood planning level for the address, and it changes what the certifier wants to see. Check it before you commit to a spot in the yard.

Coastal sand at South West Rocks and Crescent Head

Closer to the beach you are usually in sand. Sand digs easily but will not hold a wall, so the hole is cut and the shell set without leaving an open excavation sitting around.

A high water table

Low ground near the river and the creeks can carry a high water table, and a fibreglass shell is buoyant. That is normal to design for: you want hydrostatic relief and you keep the pool full. Tell us if your block sits low.

Approval through Kempsey Shire Council

Most backyard pools in New South Wales go through as a complying development with a private certifier, and the rest go to council as a development application. Either way the engineered shell drawing, the installation details and the Certificate of Compliance come in your kit, which is what your certifier asks for first.

Your pool barrier has to meet AS 1926.1 and the pool gets registered on the NSW Swimming Pool Register within 30 days.

Access and the crane

The shell comes in on a truck and is craned into the hole. What matters is the gap it has to pass through, what is overhead, and where a truck and a crane can stand. Measure your side access at its tightest point, 900 mm is the usual pinch, and look up for powerlines. Our delivery and crane access guide covers what actually matters. The crane is not in the kit price. It is booked and paid for separately by you or your builder, and its cost depends on reach and how long it has to sit there.

Do you deliver to South West Rocks and Crescent Head?

Yes, and to Frederickton, Smithtown, Gladstone, Hat Head and the rest of the Macleay. Tell us your suburb and we price the delivery properly rather than guessing at it.

My block is on the floodplain. Can I still put a pool in?

Usually yes, it just has to be designed for it. Your council has a flood planning level for the address, and a high water table means hydrostatic relief and keeping the pool full. Send us the address and we will look at it first.
